Laura Hellman DVM, CVA, DABVP
Veterinarian
Dr. Laura Hellman is a co-owner of Urgent Pet Care, joining ownership in June 2025. She is a Board-Certified Veterinarian in Canine and Feline Practice (DABVP) and brings extensive experience in both urgent and ongoing care for dogs and cats.
Dr. Hellman grew up in North Carolina and completed both her undergraduate studies and veterinary degree at North Carolina State University. Her lifelong passion for horses spurred her to begin her veterinary career in equine medicine before transitioning into small animal practice, where she has worked for more than 14 years.
Her experience includes providing routine and emergency care, as well as mentoring other veterinarians in leadership roles such as Chief of Staff and Area Medical Director, overseeing clinics across multiple states. She is also certified in veterinary acupuncture and chiropractic care, offering additional options for whole-body support and recovery.
Outside of work, Dr. Hellman enjoys spending time with her husband on their farm, where they care for dogs, cats, chickens, and horses.
